Dear Browsing Library Patrons,
We are sorry that the MSC is no longer able to provide the services of the MSC Browsing Library. A combination of declining usage and budgetary exigencies has combined to cause us to have to make this difficult decision. We have had to make a similar decision relative to the MSC Craft Center. The failed Student Service Fee Referendum last Spring and the financial issues facing the University as a whole have caused us to have to make some hard choices.
The good news is that the MSC Browsing Library space will allow us to accommodate another very significant need. For several years, we have been working with the Fighting Texas Aggie Class Councils to provide them with badly needed space and facilities to allow for the expansion of Class Councils' programs and services. The MSC Browsing Library has been, at least for the time being, allocated to them. Please stop in to check out their plans to better accommodate the needs of members of their classes and the Student Body.
The Team Traditions Programming Council and the Fighting Texas Aggie Yell Leaders also have been provided more and better space in the MSC Browsing Library area.
Please stop by the MSC Director's Office, Room 221 if you have questions or suggestions.
P.S. We are working with Food Services and the University Center staff to provide newspapers, magazines, and computer hookups in Hullabaloo, and newspapers and magazines in Rumours and the 12th Man.
Sincerely,
James R. Reynolds, Director
